Make it Mentionable with Alyssa Kulesa (formerly Alyssa Patmos)
Hi, I’m Alyssa Kulesa (formerly Alyssa Patmos) and I’m endlessly curious about how to human. In a world that discourages talking about the taboo, I bought a microphone. As Mister Rogers said, “Anything human is mentionable and anything mentionable is manageable.” I invite you to join me as we journey through the mess, the magic, and the mania in between because what we can talk about we can manage. This honest conversation extravaganza includes free-flowing conversations and high doses of vulnerability to remind you that you aren’t alone. No topic is off limits. Episodes are designed to leave you smarter (aka more self-aware) than when you came.

Do This When You Start to Feel Defensive
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
No one wants to feel like a doormat. So naturally, we employ strategies to protect ourselves from getting walked all over. Unfortunately, some of these strategies are less than stellar for actually resolving conflict. Getting defensive is one such strategy. The good news is, there’s a simple pivot you can make the next time you feel defensive that will help you dissolve the conflict instead of starting the doom spiral.
This is episode 51 of the Make it Mentionable podcast and I’m rooting for your nervous system.
